- As with many, many November/Christmas meetings we have had over the years, we started off with an appetizing and delicious Potluck lunch buffet. Each member brought a dish from home to share with everyone in attendance.
. - Then we had a crossword puzzle game to challenge members their Department 56 knowledge. Our resident trivia expert, Rick J., was perfect with a score of 27 out of 27.
. - In addition to the game, there was a Christmas display contest where our members showcased their talents in creating wonderful tabletop displays. Don M. came out on top with his creative use of a number of Department 56 Coca Cola village buildings and various related display items. Barb V. Z. came in a close second with her beautiful North Pole vignette display.
- Following last year’s tradition, we had a silent auction where there were tables and tables of items donated from club members. Most members took advantage of this opportunity to do some Christmas shopping for themselves or others. Biddings were fast and furious for many desirable items. At the end of the day, our members had fun spending monies on gifts and souvenirs. Our treasurer announced that the event collected over $700 and all proceeds would be donated to a charitable organization.
