  1. The Annual General Meeting took place at the start of the meeting.  We would like to give thanks to Steve and Barry for their excellent work in the past 2 years and congratulations to our newly elected executives: Martha (President), John (Vice President) and Don (Treasurer).  Dennis did a great job in looking after the nominations and the voting procedures. 2. Yvette presented a slide show recounting her wonderful trip to Kangiqsujuaq in the northern part of Quebec where she and a fellow quilter taught natives the art of quilting.  You can read more about their trip and their stories by clicking this link: Quilt craze has Kangiqsujuaq in stitches.

  3. In keeping with the Easter theme, we had a Easter display contest where participants created fabulous displays using bunnies, Easter eggs, trees, greeneries and various Department 56 lithouses and Snowbabies.  After all the votes were counted, Nicole came up on top with her beautiful display of the Snow Village Series’ Year Round Holiday House surrounded by mini ornaments (below – first row on the left) while Cherie came in a close second with a Easter Egg basket using a unique quilt decorated with egg shapes as the backdrop (below – second row on the left).

  4. Last but not least, members were asked to build “rabbits” using everyday hand towels, face cloths and ribbons following some very simple instructions.  The resulting “rabbits” were as interesting and varied as their creators.   As evident from the photographs below, everyone had a great time producing these beautiful art work!
