- Origin of Halloween/Trick-or-treat/Jack O’lantern
- as the theme of the meeting was Halloween, Dennis spoke to club members about the origins and traditions of this special occasion
- members were asked to dress up for this festive day and as the photograph here shows, some are apparently ready for “trick-or-treating”.
- Department 56 word scramble game
- Marlene presented a game where the names of Department 56 items were all scrambled and participants had to un-scramble the words to identify the names
- Arizona gathering review and upcoming Chicago gathering
- a number of club members went down to Arizona for the NCC 25th Anniversary Gathering this past June and all had a great time as most felt that it was one of the best organized gatherings; that was especially true for Norm and Hillary as that was their very first Department 56 collector gathering and they had nothing but praises for the gathering organizers
- although it is still a year away, many club members have already made plan to attend the Chicago gathering; see gathering details here

- club members were asked to bring in Halloween displays and as usual, a few put on their thinking caps and came up with wonderful and imaginative displays
