TVCC 25th Silver Anniversary
The organizing committee had been planning for this momentous occasion for well over a year. They thought of everything to make sure that this event went without a hitch and that all in attendance enjoyed the party that was put in front of them.
- they went to great lengths to extend invitations and make arrangement for our special guests
- they prepared goodie bags for everyone to take home at the end of the day
- they created TVCC anniversary flag posts for all to use in their displays
- they served “High Tea” in fancy china and sparkling silverwares
- they made delicious scones, mouth-watering sandwiches and sweets galore for all to devour
- they built centerpiece displays using Department 56 buildings and accessories as special door prizes
Need I say more?? Undoubtedly, everyone in attendance went home with a big smile on the face and absolutely enjoyed spending a wonderful time with all the special guests and fellow club members (current and former) in this anniversary celebration. On behalf of TVCC, kudos to the organizing committee for putting this tremendous and memorable event together!
- High Tea
- how could anyone possibly go home hungry with all these food!?!?!
- Special Guests
- we were fortunate to have Ms Lit Town Melinda Seegers from Department 56 flew all the way from the company’s headquarter to celebrate our anniversary
- she even gave a 20-minute speech on upcoming Department 56 village products and what collecting Department 56 was like back in 1994 – the year TVCC was formed
- in addition, we welcomed Tracy Proctor and Sandra Neilson from Enesco Canada who mingled among club members
- Member Displays
- members were encouraged to bring in displays that centered around the theme of “25th Silver Anniversary”, “Dickens with a Twist”, or “Tea with a Twist”
- as you can see here, a lot of them showed up with wonderful displays, each being very unique from others
- Cake Cutting Presentation
- how could we have a celebration without cake, right? ‘'
- of course, we had our special guest Melinda to do the honour of cutting the cake
- how could we have a celebration without cake, right? ‘'
- Gifts and Raffles
- as mentioned earlier, our organizing team made goodie bags for all to take home
- in addition, our special guests brought fabulous village and accessory products from Department 56 and Enesco Canada for extra special raffles
- Party Time!
- first off, we have a “town crier” at the celebration, how cool is that!
- also, we learned during the meeting portion of the event that Martha accepted the nomination for running a position within the NCC (National Council of 56 Clubs) – the first ever for a Canadian collector – needless to say, she has the support from the entire TVCC membership
- lastly, everyone certainly enjoyed his/her time at the celebration based on the big wide smiles on everyone’s face – here’s to another 25 years!
