Theme of the meeting: Nightmare Before Christmas
- Cincinnati gathering recap and special Department 56 pieces
- Rick gave a short recap on the Cincinnati gathering where a number of our members attended and came home with a bunch of prizes and purchases
- he also mentioned a couple of special pieces recently released by Department 56:
- “Russel Street Books” – a special Dickens’ Village lit house to commemorate the retirement of Heritage Village artist Barbara Lund who has been with the company for the past 3 decades
- “Canadian Village Flag” – 1 of the 9 custom village flags produced by Department 56; this particular item is exclusive to Canadian retailers
- Parade Floats
- Led by Cherie and helped by Lucy and Jacqueline, the 3 ladies did a spectacular show-and-tell on how to create your very own colourful parades using easy-to-find materials for various occasions, such as Halloween, Christmas, Canada Day, etc.
- Nightmare Before Christmas Displays
- Either a Christmas display with a splash of Halloween or a Halloween display with some Christmas elements – club members were asked to bring in a display that honoured both of these special seasons
- as usual, our members responded with fantastic displays as pictured below
