- Annual Christmas Potluck Brunch
- As a tradition of many years, the annual potluck lunch kicked off our November Christmas meeting. The photographs below certainly are a good indication how well our members enjoy their food and how well our members know how to prepare their food!
- Centerpiece Displays
- Members were asked to bring in Christmas displays with the theme of food – the display can be a restaurant scene, a busy market scene or of a particular food dish. Since most activities around the Christmas season centre around food, our members definitely have no problem coming up great display ideas with this theme in mind.
- “Did you know?” Quiz
- Don led a challenging quiz based on a handout called “did you know?” given to club members by Department 56’s Ms Lit Town Melinda Seeger on our anniversary meeting this past May. Even those who had the handouts in his/her hands were unable to get all 20 questions correct.
- Gift Exchange activity
- Another favourite activity on our Christmas meeting is the gift exchange among members. In this activity/game, every one got to pick a gift from a mountain of gifts or, if one feels mischievous, steal a gift from a club member.
- the activity almost always started out slow and every one was polite and gracious by choosing a gift from the middle; however, at a certain point during the game, people started getting “naughty” and feeling bold in taking others gifts
- but at the end, every one was happy to take home a new gift from a “Secret Santa”
