2011 March meeting highlights

1. Our president Martha took charge of our Annual General Meeting and discussed various aspects of our clubs in the past 12 months.  Club membership and financial matters were discussed.  With over 60 members in the club, we are still one vibrant collector club.  Financially, the club’s bank account has enough money to fund our activities for the coming year.   A few of the executive members’ positions were due for election this year.  After a few rounds of nominations, the following positions were elected.   We wish to thank Marlene (& Bill) for being our Program Director for the past 6, 8, 10 (?) years and for their utmost dedication to their role.

2. Our activity of the day was to build a Easter theme display using a church building along with an abundant supply of material, such as styrofoam sheet, pebbles, easter eggs, artificial flowers, tree branches, popicle sticks, marbles, green turf, etc.   As you can tell from the photographs below, everyone enjoyed putting his or her creative talent in great use and came up with fantastic ideas and wonderful displays.  After our judges’ deliberation, team #7’s entry was selected as the “best in show”.
