- 21st anniversary celebration
- it’s hard to believe our club is 21 years old!
- when the club was established in 1994, Department 56 was a highly sought after collectible brand with collectors all over the country purchasing Department 56 items left, right and center; unfortunately (or inevitably), such phenomenon was unsustainable while the collectible market went through more downs than ups in the past 2 decades
- however, two things that never wane since day 1 of our club - our passion for our beloved collectibles and the friendship among club members
- at the meeting, we had a beautiful cake for the occasion and members were encouraged to show off collector pins they collected over the years (and Darlene brought her new puppy!)
- Group activities
- there were 2 activities at the meeting: “name that piece” and “pin the wreath”
- in “name that piece”, each group was given a picture of a Department 56 item and a number of alphabets – the goal was to spell out the name of that Department 56 item using the given letters
- in “pin the wreath”, a large poster of a North Pole Village piece “Sounds of Xmas” was taped to the wall and each participant was tasked to pin a wreath on the poster blind-folded
